Hi, I'm Monika!

I’m an illustrator with a big love for creating children’s books and cozy, character-driven illustrations. My work is full of warm colors and charming, anthropomorphic characters—think animals with personalities, little quirks, and big hearts. I mostly use gouache and colored pencils, with a touch of digital editing to bring everything together.

The first book that I illustrated back in 2012 won Golden Pinwheel Award at Shanghai Children’s Bookfair. I graduated with the MA in Children’s Book Illustration in 2014 and since then I illustrated 50 books and written 11 of them. My books were translated into more than 20 languages and published internationally.

Over the years, I’ve found that most of the people drawn to my work are beginner illustrators—people who feel that spark and want to learn how to create characters of their own. If that’s you, you’re in the right place.
